Orangeville Yard Views Station Area

Middle of town.  Bunk house at the front, Esso fuels at the back (all the buildings there)
Station platform area.   The town line cuts right across the yard.  In 1947 all that protected the road was simple crossbucks (which I have yet to make).   You can see the detail of the road surface, including oil stains and repair patches at the rails. People have been added to the platform.  A story is starting to emerge!  Station platform was made with drywall compound and pitted using course sandpaper.  The sandpaper was put face down on the painted "asphalt", and rubbed hard with the handle of a screw driver.  This put the grit image into the soft plaster, giving it a pitted look.
Close up view of the road.
