Once you have created a train, either passenger or freight, the program considers all cars as being assigned to that train. Cars do not get placed at their destinations until you terminate the train. From the main screen, select "Terminate Train". If there are any trains out, you will see this flashing. Once there, you will see a list of all trains that the database considers to be currently running. Select the train to be terminated. If all the rolling stock on this train has been delivered then press the big Terminate Train button on the right.

If any cars could not be delivered to their destination, you can uncheck them and they will appear on the bottom list. In the Location column indicate were the crew left the car. The Town column provides a list of basic locations. The first three are standard, the rest is a list of towns on the route the train took. "Not Picked Up" means the car will remain at whatever its location was before the train was created. "Dropped @ Yard" means the car was taken to the terminating yard. "Could Not Find" means that you looked for the car but could not find it. Selecting this option will make the car lost, making the car unusable by the program until found. The Administration section deals with lost cars in the Equipment Location tab. None of these first three require a comment to be entered in the third column.
If you left the car elsewhere, you will need to indicate the town it was left in, as per one of the items in the drop list, and note in the third column specific instructions as to where the car can be found. The next train through will have that car on the switchlist and again attempt to spot the car.
You will note the Same as Previous Car option. If you have more than one car left at the same place, do the first one with the specifics, check this, then uncheck each of the other cars. They will assume the specifics of the last car added when this is checked.
Rechecking a car will remove it from this elsewhere list.
You can also cancel a train. On the bottom left corner of the form is a button labeled "Cancel". This allows you to cancel the selected train. All cars and locomotives will be returned from being on the train to being where they were before the train picked them up.
