Hardware Requirements:

·      Minimum Pentium-100 CPU

·      16 MB of RAM memory (but it prefers 32 MB or more)

·      45 MB of hard drive space. Many of the system’s files are common files that may already exist on your system, so the actual usage of space will vary.

·      SVGA color monitor (minimum 800x600 resolution, 256 colours)

·      Mouse or other pointing device

·      Printer (laser is best, but inkjet is quite acceptable)

Software Requirements:

·      Windows 95, 98, NT or 2000. If you are using Windows 95, the system requires "DCOM for Windows 98" to be installed. Which can be downloaded from our website.

Installation:

1.    Pick up the installation file at www.mcswiz.com/filepickup/Interchange.zip In the folder where you placed this zip file, double click on it.  The setup program will then start. DO NOT INSTALL FROM THE ZIP FILE.

2.    Walk through the setup process.

3.    Once the application is installed, run the program (An icon will be on your desktop).

The following files should have been installed into the program’s folder:

MRFMS.exe This is the main program.

MRDB.mdb This is your database.

MRFMS Demo.exe This is the demo program.

MRDB Demo.mdb This is the demo database.

InterchangeHelp.chm This is the help file.

Interchange.mdb This is the file used to exchange data with other layouts.

Support files included in the folder are:

About.htm, MainIcon.ico, Notes.htm, System.stp, and Steps.htm

Other files are created during the program’s execution.

Once the application is installed, you will be able to run trains via the Simple Dispatch Management mode, which is freeware. Should you decide that you want to use the more advanced features of this system, you can purchase your installation’s registration key. Go to the "About" form and you will see a five character code with no accompanying key number. Submit this code to our website, along with your payment information, and you will be e-mailed your personal registration key once your payment is processed.

This code and key are unique to your database, hence you will not be able to use the same installation and key on another machine. Read Registration for details on how to use other’s databases on your machine. Should you ever need to reinstall the program on your machine, make sure you backup the database file first.

Provided you have only the one database, you can, however, install as many copies of the application as you need. Thus if you are on a network, you can run any number of copies of the application against the one database. To install on another machine, go through the same installation process as above.  Once installed, delete the database file MRDB.mdb.  When you run this program it will pop up asking where the database is located.  Just navigate to the machine where the main MDB file is located and select the proper folder.  Done once, the program knows from that point onward.
